HiPC Workshops 2026 – FAQ for Workshop and Tutorial Organizers
33rd IEEE International Conference on High Performance Computing
Contact information:
Workshop and Tutorial Co-Chairs mailing list: workshop@hipc.org
Q1. What is the workshop and tutorial proposal submission deadline?
June 30, 2026
Q2. What topics are of interest?
Complementing the main technical program, HiPC workshops serve to broaden the technical scope of the conference in emerging areas of high performance computing, networking, data analytics, quantum computing, edge computing systems, and their application. HiPC workshops and tutorials serve as an extended forum to present and discuss work-in-progress as well as mature research and state-of-the-art among peers from around the world and also highlight research activities in India.
Q3. Where should one submit a workshop or tutorial proposal?
Workshop and tutorial proposals must be submitted to the HiPC 2026 conference via the Workshop and Tutorial Submission Form: https://ssl.linklings.net/conferences/HiPC/
Q4. How long can a HiPC workshop / tutorial be?
Workshops and tutorials should be proposed as half-day sessions (approx. 3.5 hours) unless the organizers have reason to believe they can develop a full-day program (approx. 7 hours), in which case, they should explain why they believe they can attract sufficient participation to present a full day program.
Q5. When will the notifications for accepted workshop and tutorial proposals be sent?
July 14, 2026
Q6. How to create a submission portal for workshop submissions?
HiPC Workshop Organizers must use Linklings (https://ssl.linklings.net/conferences/HiPC/) for the entirety of their program development process, including invited and contributed sessions and speakers and peer-review process (including submissions, reviews, communication with authors, and camera-ready submissions). The material provided on Linklings will be used to automatically build the HiPC program. HiPC Workshop Organizers have software permissions to change various settings in Linklings to customize their submission forms. HiPC Workshop Organizers may change the dates for their internal review process. This refers to the dates for Linklings Stage 1 submissions and review due dates. Organizers, however, must not change the camera-ready due date.
Q7. What is the recommended timeline for accepted workshops and tutorials?
HiPC will have the same deadlines for all accepted workshops, tutorials and SRS.
- Workshop Website and CFP published by the workshop organizers: July 31, 2026
Workshops with proceedings should take note of the following recommended deadlines to ensure alignment with the overall conference proceedings schedule:
- Submission site open (latest by): September 1, 2026
- Full Paper submissions (latest by): October 9, 2026
- Author notifications (latest by): November 6, 2026
- Camera-ready version (firm deadline): November 13, 2026
Further deadlines applicable to accepted workshops and tutorials:
- Individual Workshop / Tutorial Full Program published (latest by): November 20, 2026
- Conference dates: December 16-19, 2026
Q8. How many presentations may a workshop include, and what are the guidelines?
Half-day proposals may include three to four presenters. One of the authors of each workshop paper (preferably the presenting author) should REGISTER before submitting the CAMERA READY version of their paper to avoid ‘no-shows’ of speakers during the workshop. This should be noted in the workshop CFP.
For any queries, please contact the Workshops chairs (workshop@hipc.org).
Q9. Should everyone register? Or do workshop / tutorials presenters receive complimentary conference registration?
Yes, all attendees including organizers, paper presenters, and invited speakers must have a valid registration. There are no additional discounts or waivers beyond what is officially posted.
The only exception is HiPC’s policy to provide ONE COMPLIMENTARY registration (for one keynote or one invited speaker only) per workshop and tutorial.
Q10. What about the requirement to obtain a VISA?
If any of the speakers or organizers need an India travel visa please let the HiPC committee know well in advance (preferably by September 30). Further details will be posted on the HiPC Website.
Q11. Guidelines for the workshop paper review process
The Program Committee for each individual workshop must be established and published online by July 31. All submitted papers must undergo peer review by at least three reviewers.
Authors of papers submitted to the main conference will have the option to forward their rejected or marginally rejected papers to a workshop. A mechanism to facilitate this transfer is in place.
For further details, please contact the Workshop Chairs.
Q12. Will network access be available when the workshop / tutorial is presented?
Submissions must indicate if hands-on exercises are essential for their session. Generally, the entire conference area will have open access Wi-Fi. However, if the presenters need a dedicated high-bandwidth connection, they should contact the workshop organizers in advance.
Q13. What are the start, end, and break times?
Workshops and tutorials should be scheduled in either morning or afternoon 4-hour time slots, with a 30-minute refreshment break included. Sessions typically begin at 8:30 AM and conclude by 6:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break between morning and afternoon slots. Organizers are requested to inform the HiPC organizing committee of their slot preferences by mid-October, to allow sufficient time for logistical arrangements and event planning.
HiPC strongly encourages workshop and tutorial organizers to finalize and publish their program schedules by mid-November. If invited speakers are to be arranged, having the schedule in place early will help the HiPC team coordinate speaker availability more effectively.
Please reach out to the Workshops Chairs for any further details or coordination.
Q14. What kind of help is available to address the publicity issue for the workshops?
HiPC will periodically do a consolidated publicity of all the workshops, however, workshop organizers are expected to actively publicize their CFPs in their networks and mailing lists for more targeted publicity.
Q15. Workshop Proceedings
Accepted papers presented in the HiPC 2026 workshops will be published in the Workshops volume of the conference proceedings, identified by a separate ISBN (HiPCW 2026). After the conference, eligible papers will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
Q16. Workshop Paper Format
Workshop paper submissions should follow the IEEE conference template (double-column format, 10-pt font on 8.5″×11″ pages). The templates are available here: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Submission guidelines by paper type:
- Extended poster abstract: 2 pages (including references, figures, tables)
- Short paper: 4 pages (excluding references, figures, tables)
- Full paper: minimum 6 (excluding references, figures, tables) and up to 10 pages (including references, figures, tables) (You may define the final page limit for full papers within this range.)
