Hotel Reservations at HiPC 2000 Conference Site

Please note that the following rates are discounted from the rack rates. However, these may not be the lowest available rates. Please check with your travel consultant or visit websites specializing in hotel reservations (for example, http://www.hotelbook.com/static/welcome_14612.html). Based on seasonal variations and promotions, you may be able to find lower rates.
Rates: Single: $120 plus applicable taxes
Double: $ 135 plus applicable taxesThe Residency rooms (additional $15 plus tax) are located on the higher floors, have their own business lounges wherein breakfast is served and evening cocktail hour is held. Also, 24 hour valet service is available on these floors.

Please note the following.
1. THE DEADLINE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS TO HOLD THE BOOKING ON A CONFIRMED BASIS IS DECEMBER 1, 2000. AFTER DECEMBER 1, ROOMS WILL BE CONFIRMED SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY.
2. RESERVATIONS MUST BE GUARANTEED USING A CREDIT CARD.
3. ANY CANCELLATIONS OR AMENDMENTS HAVE TO BE MADE BEFORE DECEMBER 1, 2000, AFTER WHICH ONE NIGHT'S ROOM RATE WOULD BE CHARGED AS RETENTION CHARGES.
4. ROOM WILL BE RELEASED AT 6 P.M. ON THE DAY OF THE RESERVATION.
5. THE ABOVE RATES ARE VALID FROM DECEMBER 15, 2000 TO DECEMBER 25, 2000.
Airport to Hotel transfer: Prepaid taxi operated by KSTDC is strongly recommended. The cost should be approx Rs. 200. The prepaid taxi counter is located in the arrival terminal just outside the baggage claim area. Click here for details.
The conference site is located in the heart of the business district. A wide range of hotels are available within walking distance/short taxi/auto-rickshaw ride from the conference site. A selection of hotels is listed below. First-time visitors to India might find it more convenient to stay at a hotel within walking distance from the conference site.
Note: Luxurious hotel rooms cost anywhere between US$100/- and US$200/-. Bed & breakfast a/c rooms are available for about US$15/- or Rupees 600/- per night. Be sure to enquire about luxury/service/other additional taxes when making your reservations.

Guest House at NIAS, IISc
For faculty participants, a limited number of rooms (15) have been blocked in the NIAS Guest House, which is located in IISc campus.For Accommodation at NIAS Guest House, send a mail to [email protected]. stating the dates for which you would like to book the room, whether you would like to share the room, your name, e-mail address, designation and affiliation ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 10, 2000 (FIRM DEADLINE).
- Rs.300/- per bed or Rs.600/- per room (2 beds) per day. Each room has 2 beds.
- Earliest check-in: noon, Dec.16, 2000; Latest check-out: noon, Dec.21, 2000

- Food: morning coffee/tea;no other food arrangements
- Transportation: HiPC will arrange transport to conference site (~20 minutes);
- Autorickshaws available within a 5-minute walk from guest house; auto to conference site will cost about Rs.45/-. Bus-stop is a 10-minute walk.
- Location: corner of Indian Institute of Science campus; quiet location amidstgreenery; National Institute of Advanced Studies is a prestigious national centre with a small, idyllic campus on the IISc main campus. IISc depts are a 20-minute walk from NIAS.
